Changes in 2024

Women's Over 30s & Over 45s

In 2024, the NSFA (our local association) is replacing the existing Women’s Over 35 competitions with a Women’s Over 30’s and a Women’s Over 45’s competition. The change in the competition structure has been in the pipeline for a number of years, however the significant growth over the last 7 years means that the NSFA are now able to implement the change.

Were you inspired by the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2023? Are you and your friends looking for a fun way to get fit this winter?

WPFC has had a long tradition of women's teams who play for fun and fitness (and sometimes competition!). In past seasons we have had three women's teams in W35s, across all skill levels (from Div 1 to Div 4). Women of all fitness levels, from the local area and many from out of West Pymble. We have quite a few mums and daughters playing for the club too - keeping the football spirit alive in families.

During the winter season (April to August), we train once per week, usually on Thursday nights from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Training is not compulsory however all players are encouraged to attend.

Games are played on Sunday afternoons starting at either 1:00 PM or 3:00 PM. Our home games are usually played at Norman Griffiths Oval  (West Pymble) or Mimosa Oval (Turramurra). Away games are held at various grounds around the Upper North Shore.

If you would like to learn more about the new W30/45 competition and our teams, and would like to join us for a commitment free introduction to football, please reach out to our Women's Coordinator at w35coord@wpfc.com.au.

Fun, Fitness, and Friendship!

Our women's teams arrange pre-season fitness and social gatherings for players to try football and to meet members. They are welcoming and have found that once a player joins, they are happy to stay for as long as they are keen to play football. The players do not undertake formal grading, however, given the depth of players, they are lucky to be able to provide places for beginners, intermediate and advanced players in a variety of field positions.

This enables players to progress their skills, or to reduce their pace as they prefer over time. At the end of each Sunday game the teams celebrate their efforts, and relax with drinks and snacks on the side line, or at West Pymble Bicentennial Club.

They also arrange social and fun activities throughout the season for players, their partners and families. For players who are keen, some also play in short-form futsal out of season (spring/summer) competitions, in the local area.
