Youth Technical Director
WPFC are pleased to announce that they have confirmed the continued services of our very own WPFC Premier League player, West Pymble FC girls U14 Diamond League coach, and former professional player Cam Jones as the club's Youth Technical Director (who started in the role in 2017).
As part of Cam's role he will also oversee and run the Monday Night Technical Skills Sessions for the club. Combining his experience as a player, deep football knowledge, and the current FFA junior/youth building blocks to deliver what we expect to be our finest Technical Skills program to date. Cam is in the process of completing his C-Licence qualification and will also be overseeing our coach-the-coaches programme this year.
Our 2020 Coaches
Former professional player who came through the same youth system as Australia's "golden era" of footballers - heavy in technical skills based training and creativity. Cam came through the NSW Institute system before being selected to join the Australian Joeys U17s shadow squad in preparation for the 1999 Youth World Cup, a tournament Australia went all the way to the final only to fall to Brazil at the final hurdle.
From there Cam went on to spend 3 years in the old National League set up. Playing for Sydney Olympic, Northern Spirit and Newcastle United youth teams before being introduced to the 1st Grade set up at Spirit. During this time Cam was also identified and asked to trial in the UK at some of England's biggest clubs including Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Crystal Palace before ultimately playing for Stoke City's reserves in 2003 whilst training full time with the 1st team squad on a daily basis under current West Bromwich Albion English Premier League coach - Tony Pulis.
Cam then returned home to Australia to play in the revamped NSW Premier League - the highest level of football in the country at the time before the A-League launched in 2005. He then spent the next decade playing professionally in what’s now titled the National Premier League for the likes of Rockdale City Suns, West Sydney Berries, Manly United and APIA Leichhardt - whom he captained.
Throughout this time Cam has continued to coach junior footballers around the country - and even for a short period in Brazil. Encouraging them and inspiring them to be the best they can be. In 2016 he officially took on the West Pymble FC Diamond League U14 girls team and in 2017 will take on an overarching youth development role as the clubs new Youth Technical Director. He has also just completed the FFA C License course which will form a big part of the proposed Technical Skills Programme - along with incorporating his own football philosophy, vision and experience in to the programme.
A hugely passionate coach with over a decade of experience coaching junior footballers at Corpus Christi and West Pymble FC.
Alex also took over the Corpus Christi O35s last year as well as successfully coaching the West Pymble U14As boys team to win their Division 1 Grand Final and as well as Gala Day competitions. Alex will be coaching the West Pymble Diamond League U12 girls in 2017 - along with the technical skills program at West Pymble FC.
Alex has also completed all relevant FFA grassroots junior and youth coaching certificates and will commence and complete his FFA C License within the first half of this year.
Aron Chapman is also a full time football coach and joined us midway through last season as a qualified Coerver coach and team coach of one of our junior SAP teams. Aron is from England and starting coaching in the USA in 2011.
After a coaching stint in Canada Aron accepted a 4-year college playing scholarship at Oklahoma City University and started working as a Coerver Coach in Minnesota at which time he also coached an U16 boys team. After graduating in 2018, Aron joined the Rev Soccer Club where he was head coach for 2 academy teams whom competed at the highest level in Minnesota. Aron has a degree in Exercise Science, the FA Level 2 qualification and FA Youth Module 1 (English qualifications) and will be commencing his FFA C Licence qualification shortly in December.
Aron will also be one of the club’s junior SAP coaches in the 2020 season and is very keen to complement his Coerver coaching commitments with coaching high level teams.
Chris Semaan holds a FFA B Licence.
