Walking Football Come and Try Sessions - 4 and 11 May 2022

Updated: May 1

With the somewhat drier weather – and if it holds through to Wednesday night – the long delayed first of two Walking Football Come & Try sessions is set for this week.

Aimed out anyone that is 40+ years of age and are keen to try out football for the first time, or wanting to rekindle your skills, spark and love for the game, then Walking Football is made for you. It provides a less intensive, low-impact form of this great game and a heck of a lot of fun.

Meet new people, make new friends, catch up with existing mates, keeping fit, and having a lot of fun doing so - that's more than enough reasons to get involved.

Dates:

Session 1 - Wednesday 4 May 2022

Session 2 – Wednesday 11 May 2022

Time: 6:45 PM to 8:00 PM.

Start time is 6:45 PM for the introduction and explanation of the rules, with an aim to kick-off at 7:00 PM. Head toward the Football NSW banners/flags that should be set and ready by the time you arrive.

Location: Comenarra Oval, Nimbrin St, Turramurra (https://tiny.one/walkingfootball)

Cost for Come & Try: free. Registration forms (paper based) can be completed upon arrival.

HOW WALKING FOOTBALL IS PLAYED

- Running is not allowed. A participant always has to have one foot on the ground.

- It is a non-contact version of the game.

- The ball cannot be kicked above head height.

- There is no heading of the ball.

- There are no ‘referees’ as such and the competitive angle is kept to a minimum.

- The focus is on fun, making friends, and keeping fit.

See you on Wednesday night.
