Synthetic Pitch approved for Norman Griffiths Oval

The Ku-ring-gai Council voted unanimously at their September 21 meeting, to extend the budget to allow this project to commence for the installation of an all-weather / synthetic grass pitch at Norman Griffiths Oval. The enhanced project scope involves water tanks being installed under the ground to slow down water run-off. Council now need to go through a final design phase for the project before they commence construction works. At the meeting, it was mentioned that it is hoped that the new synthetic pitch could be used at some stage during 2022, hopefully for some of our season. The Councillors agreed that given the current lockdown they would prefer to expedite the project if possible so that the local community can start enjoying the new facility. We will keep members updated on project timing. This is fabulous news for the club and hopefully will buoy the spirits of our members during these challenging times. Thank you so much to all of our members who have supported the project over so many years. Members should be assured that our Club Committee has agreed to equitable usage of the oval by all members. In addition to the increased usage throughout the season - including when it is raining + waterlogged when we unable to play currently - we look forward to enjoying use a high quality and safer oval in pre-season as well as for summer football and off-season trials + trainings. It's going to be a fabulous facility that all members can enjoy more often all year around! Thank you to our Councillors for making this happen!
